Oliver McCall, 59, returned to boxing with a knockout win against 54-year-old Stacy Frazier in Nashville, days after 58-year-old Mike Tyson lost to Jake Paul, and expressed interest in fighting Jake Paul to avenge both Nate Robinson and Tyson.
Hey, Mike Tyson, looks like you’ve got some new competition!
Just days after 58-year-old Tyson went eight rounds and lost against Jake Paul at a jam-packed AT&T Stadium, Oliver McCall, who’s 59, made a triumphant return. He scored a knockout win in a much quieter event over in Nashville, Tennessee.
Check out the footage of McCall’s victory below.
Both Tyson and McCall were stepping into the ring after years away. For Tyson, it was his first professional fight since 2005. Meanwhile, McCall hadn’t fought since 2019 and only had two other fights since 2014.
But here’s the kicker: unlike Tyson, who faced off against Jake Paul—a guy three decades younger—McCall didn’t have to deal with such a crazy age difference. He took on Stacy Frazier, who’s 54, making it a more even playing field.
Now, McCall isn’t just some random fighter; he’s been around. Known for his shocking upset against Lennox Lewis back in ’94, he became one of only two men to defeat Lewis during his impressive 76-fight career. That victory earned him the WBC champion title, although he eventually lost it to Frank Bruno and then dropped a rematch to Lewis in ’97.
When asked about future plans, McCall seemed pretty optimistic. Someone in the crowd shouted out Jake Paul’s name, and he didn’t shy away from the idea.
“I’d knock Jake Paul out,” McCall confidently claimed during his post-fight interview.
He did get a bit mixed up though—confusing Jake with his brother Logan Paul—thinking Logan had knocked out NBA vet Nate Robinson (spoiler: it was actually Jake). But hey, he’s eager to avenge both Robinson and Tyson.
“I want revenge for Nate Robinson and then Mike Tyson, for what [Jake did] with Mike Tyson. That would be awesome.”
