Abdul Razak Alhassan apologized to his fans on Instagram after being knocked out by Cesar Almeida at UFC Vegas 101, admitting he got greedy during the fight.
Abdul Razak Alhassan has spoken out for the first time since his tough knockout at UFC Vegas 101. It was a middleweight clash, him against Cesar Almeida, headlining the first UFC event of 2025 at the APEX in Las Vegas. Alhassan had Almeida on the ropes but then—BAM!—got knocked out cold just past the four-minute mark.
He took to Instagram to address this shocking defeat. “I’m sorry fans, I got greedy, and I got caught,” he admitted. “No excuse. I’m sorry to my fans—my true fans. I got greedy, went for it, and got caught. There’s nothing I can do but cry myself to sleep.”
During the fight broadcast, they mentioned that Alhassan was down on the canvas for quite some time. But eventually, he managed to get up and make it to his stool before Almeida was declared the winner. Unfortunately, this marks three straight fights without a win for Alhassan, including a strange no-contest against Cody Brundage at UFC Denver last July.
On the flip side, Almeida is on a roll! After losing to Roman Kopylov at UFC 302 back in June, he’s now scored consecutive wins over both Alhassan and Ihor Potieria. Quite the comeback story for him!
