Alan Belcher and ex-UFC champion Junior dos Santos are set to fight for the heavyweight title of Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Bare-Knuckle MMA promotion on March 2 in Orlando, Florida.
So, here’s the scoop. Alan Belcher and ex-UFC champ Junior dos Santos are set to duke it out. They’re gunning for the heavyweight title of Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Bare-Knuckle MMA promotion. The big day? March 2. The place? Orlando, Fla.
Masvidal himself dropped the news on Tuesday. Quite a bombshell, huh?
This ain’t Belcher’s first rodeo with Gamebred. He’s stepping into the ring for the second time after snagging a split decision win over Roy Nelson in his debut. Before he threw his hat into the bare-knuckle MMA ring, Belcher was killing it in bare-knuckle boxing. He had a solid 4-0 record under the BKFC umbrella. Oh, and he was the heavyweight champ too, before some drama unfolded, his title got stripped, and he exited stage left from the organization.
Belcher’s no newbie to the fight game. He’s a 15-time UFC veteran. Hung up his gloves in 2015, only to make a comeback as a bare-knuckle fighter five years later. He’s even dipped his toes into boxing, recently scoring a win over social influencer Chase DeMoor this past July. Talk about a jack of all trades!
As for dos Santos, he’s also making his second appearance under the Gamebred banner. He won a split decision over Fabricio Werdum this past September. After that, he decided to stick with bare-knuckle MMA for a while. Can’t blame him, really.
Now, dos Santos is eyeing another title. He’s gearing up to clash with Belcher in a bare-knuckle MMA fight in March. Should be a heck of a showdown, don’t ya think?
