Alex Pereira, the UFC light heavyweight champion, celebrated Christmas with a playful pillow fight against his sons, while awaiting the UFC’s decision on his next opponent after successfully defending his title three times in 2024.
Pillow Fight Championship, step aside for your future star, Alex Pereira.
This week, the UFC light heavyweight champ celebrated Christmas with his sons and friends in Danbury, Conn. They had a blast “competing” in pillow fights. Unsurprisingly, the Brazilian knockout artist — who almost punched his sons during a prank back in 2023 — dominated everyone.

On a more serious note, “Poatan” is currently waiting for the UFC to decide his future in the octagon.
The former GLORY two-division champion defended his UFC title three times in 2024. He finished Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka, and Khalil Rountree. Initially, he was expected to face Magomed Ankalaev next in 2025.
However, “Poatan” posted earlier this month that Ankalaev wouldn’t be next in line. This led to an immediate response from the Russian fighter.
Ankalaev hasn’t lost in 13 straight UFC fights. He’s knocked out Johnny Walker, Anthony Smith, and Ion Cutelaba. Yet, he ended up with a lackluster split draw against Jan Błachowicz for the vacant belt back in December 2022. Most recently, Ankalaev secured a decision victory over Aleksandar Rakic.
