Hill showed up at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City on Saturday. He was there to witness Pereira’s latest title defense. When Pereira secured an incredible win over Khalil Rountree Jr., Hill decided to troll him a little. Caught on camera, Hill reacted with a mocking yawn.
Not the worst joke from Hill, given their history and the fact that he’s still recovering from an injury. But here’s the kicker: Pereira already proved his dominance by flattening Hill just six months ago.
“Maybe he just woke up from UFC 300,” Pereira quipped at the UFC 307 post-fight press conference. Classic Pereira.
Originally, Hill was set to face Rountree at UFC 303. However, Rountree tested positive for a banned substance and got suspended, though this was sorted out by UFC 307. Meanwhile, Hill withdrew due to injury, leading to Rountree squaring off against Pereira instead.
The silver lining for Hill? Pereira seems committed to staying at 205 pounds for now. If Hill can make a comeback and rack up a couple of wins, a rematch could be on the horizon.
