Valentina Shevchenko won the trilogy against Alexa Grasso at UFC 306, with Grasso expressing disappointment in her performance and vowing to come back stronger.
Valentina Shevchenko wrapped up the Alexa Grasso trilogy with a victory at UFC 306 in Las Vegas last Saturday. The Mexican star left the octagon disappointed after five grueling rounds.
Now holding a 1-1-1 record in title fights against “Bullet,” Grasso took to social media to share her thoughts. She missed the UFC 306 post-fight press conference at Sphere but promised to return stronger after experiencing her first loss in over four years.
“I want to thank everyone for your support,” Grasso wrote in Spanish (translated by MMA Fighting’s José Youngs). “It wasn’t the night I wanted. I’ll get back to training, and I promise the next fight will be much better. Love you so much.”
Grasso (16-4-1) initially shocked fans by submitting Shevchenko with a rear-naked choke in their first encounter in March 2023. Their rematch later that year ended in a close split draw.
The trilogy bout took place a year later, coinciding with Mexican Independence Day, following both fighters coaching a season of *The Ultimate Fighter*. This time, Shevchenko dominated all three scorecards.
With this win, Shevchenko improved her record to 24-4-1. It marked her 10th victory since moving down to flyweight in 2018.
