Ali Abdelaziz Claims Belal Muhammad Ready for December Return Fight

Belal Muhammad is preparing for his first UFC welterweight title defense, likely in December at UFC 310, with potential opponents including Shavkat Rakhmonov or Kamaru Usman, as confirmed by his manager Ali Abdelaziz.

Belal Muhammad is gearing up for his first title defense. The reigning UFC welterweight champion is expected to return in December. This news comes from his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, who says Muhammad’s training hard and ready to fight by year’s end.

“Belal is ready to go in December,” Abdelaziz told MMA Fighting. “No problem. We’re ready, but the UFC has to announce it.” He added that while the opponent and location remain a mystery, it’s a question only Dana White can answer.

Potential contenders? Shavkat Rakhmonov or maybe Kamaru Usman. Abdelaziz believes if you’re the champ, you defend against whoever they give you. No exceptions there.

If December is on the cards, expect Muhammad at UFC 310 on Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The buzz is real, with Muhammad possibly eyeing Rakhmonov as his next challenge.

But don’t count Usman out just yet. There’s been some verbal sparring between him and Muhammad too. Abdelaziz manages both fighters and anticipates their clash eventually—just not sure when.

“Kamaru is one of my best friends, my brother,” Abdelaziz said. “Belal is my brother too. Two alpha males, both want the crown.” He noted that while they might not respect each other much now, a fight between them could be monumental for the welterweight division.

Abdelaziz vows to stay out of any verbal battles between his fighters. His role? Ensure they remain healthy and financially rewarded post-fight.

“They will fight,” he stated confidently. “They’re grown men who both want the same thing.” His job is to ensure they earn well and get what they need when the time comes.

Whether it’s Rakhmonov or Usman, Muhammad won’t shy away from challenges. He’s waited long for his title shot and is eager to start his reign.

“Belal will fight anybody, don’t get it twisted,” Abdelaziz emphasized. “He’s not afraid of any man on this planet.” The same goes for Usman and Rakhmonov—no fear there either.

However, Abdelaziz did take a jab at Colby Covington, labeling him as someone who ducks fights unless convenient for him. Unlike others in the top five who aren’t afraid of anyone.
