Aline Pereira Joins Karate Combat 52 Miami Lineup

Aline Pereira, sister of UFC champion Alex Pereira, will return to the Karate Combat pit on January 24 in Miami to face Gisele Luna, while the event will also feature UFC veteran Lucas Martins against Ilyas Khamzin and the return of knockout artist Robelis Despaigne.

Aline Pereira, sister to UFC light heavyweight champ Alex Pereira, is stepping back into the Karate Combat pit on Jan. 24 in Miami, Fla. This exciting news was confirmed by promotion officials to MMA Fighting.

She’ll be facing off against Argentina’s Gisele Luna. Should be an interesting matchup!

Also on the card, UFC vet Lucas Martins will take on Ilyas Khamzin. A night full of action!

Pereira, known for her kickboxing prowess and a 1-2 MMA record, had a smashing debut in Karate Combat last October. She knocked out Dee Begley with a left hook in under three minutes. Impressive stuff!

Gisele Luna, meanwhile, kicked off her MMA career with a 5-0 streak but hit a rough patch with three consecutive losses in 2024. Can she bounce back?

Lucas Martins has quite the resume, having fought seven times across three weight classes in the UFC from 2013 to 2016. He finished all three of his wins and even snagged a couple of bonuses.

His opponent, Khamzin, boasts a 13-4 MMA record, all under the Russian Cagefighting Championship banner. A seasoned fighter indeed.

Karate Combat 52 isn’t stopping there. Knockout artist Robelis Despaigne returns to face Dana White’s Contender Series vet Marcos Brigagao after his jaw-dropping 4-second KO debut last December. That’s what you call a “blink-and-you-miss-it” moment!
