Aljamain Sterling will fight Movsar Evloev for the featherweight title at UFC 307 on October 5, following his successful 145-pound debut and a period of negotiation, with Evloev currently undefeated and ranked No. 4 in MMA Fighting’s featherweight rankings.

Sterling fights Movsar Evloev in a featherweight title bout at UFC 307, which takes place on Oct. 5. MMA Fighting confirmed the matchup with multiple sources. The news was first reported by MMA Propagande.
A former UFC bantamweight champion, Sterling made his 145-pound debut at UFC 300. He dominated Calvin Kattar to debut at No. 10 in MMA Fighting’s featherweight rankings.
Following the win, Sterling called for a fight with Evloev. But the bout took some time to come to fruition, leading Sterling to pursue other options.
Ultimately, the matchup did get finished though. Sterling posted on his Instagram in excitement for the fight.
Currently, Evloev is MMA Fighting’s No. 4 ranked UFC featherweight and is undefeated in MMA with a perfect 18-0 record. Most recently, Evloev won via unanimous decision over Arnold Allen at UFC 297 in January.
While not yet official, UFC 307 is expected to be heading back to Salt Lake City.
