Amanda Serrano Joins PFL for Super Fight Division Competition

Undisputed women’s featherweight boxing champion Amanda Serrano has announced she will return to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) to compete in the Professional Fighter’s League (PFL) pay-per-view Super Fight Division, joining athletes such as Francis Ngannou, Jake Paul, and Kayla Harrison.

Amanda Serrano, the undisputed women’s featherweight champion of the boxing world, is making a grand entry into the PFL. In a recent announcement made on The MMA Hour, Serrano revealed her plan to return to MMA, competing in the PFL PPV Super Fight Division. Although she hasn’t revealed a specific debut date, she anticipates fighting in the flyweight division. She will be partaking in the same division as notable figures such as ex-UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, Jake Paul, and two-time PFL champion Kayla Harrison.

Serrano’s MMA career, albeit short-lived, has been undefeatable thus far. The featherweight champion first stepped into the MMA arena as a flyweight competitor against Corina Herrera in April 2018, with the match concluding in a unanimous draw. Subsequently, she achieved victory against Erendira Ordonez due to a first-round rear-naked choke in October 2018. The boxer extended her MMA track record in June 2021 as a strawweight, accomplishing a 60-second guillotine choke submission against Valentina Garcia.

As a professional boxer, Serrano’s accomplishments are staggering, having won nine major world titles spread across seven different weight categories. Bearer of the title “The Real Deal”, Serrano currently holds the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring featherweight championship. She is set to defend these titles in a forthcoming match with Heather Hardy this Saturday, co-headlining the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz card at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. An interesting note in her career was the iconic Fight of the Year duel with Katie Taylor in 2022; the first women’s boxing match to main event at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Despite Serrano losing to Taylor on a split decision, the match is hailed by most as the biggest women’s boxing match of all time.
