Anderson Silva Hints at Final Boxing Match in June

UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva is expected to compete in what is being teased as his farewell match, “Spider’s Grand Finale,” at the Spaten Fight Night event in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 15, under boxing rules against an unannounced opponent.

Anderson Silva, a UFC Hall of Famer, is hinting at what could be his final match. It’s a big deal.

A 3D billboard in Shinjuku, Japan, dropped a bombshell on Wednesday. It aired a brief promo for Spaten Fight Night. This is a combat sports event, backed by a beverage company. The big news? “Spider’s Grand Finale” is set for June 15.

Silva’s expected to step into the ring for this one. He’ll be boxing. Who’s he fighting? That’s still under wraps. The showdown’s happening in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Silva’s no stranger to the fight game. He’s a former UFC middleweight champion. Made a real name for himself in the octagon. He’s got 17 wins under his belt. Not to mention, 10 consecutive title defenses. He’s faced off against some big names – Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen (twice!), Rich Franklin, and Demian Maia. Plus, he’s had light heavyweight wins against Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar.

In 2020, Silva and UFC parted ways. He switched gears, moved to boxing. His return to the squared circle was a success. He defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Then, he made quick work of Tito Ortiz, knocking him out in a mere 81 seconds. But, his most recent appearance in October 2022 was a bit of a letdown. He lost to Jake Paul.
