Andrei Arlovski Leaves UFC After UFC 303

Andrei Arlovski‘s split decision loss to Martin Buday at UFC 303 marked his final fight under his UFC contract, ending his second stint with the promotion, although he plans to continue competing elsewhere.

It looks like Andrei Arlovski’s 42nd octagon appearance will be his last in the UFC.

A source familiar with the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Arlovski’s split decision loss to Martin Buday at UFC 303 was the final fight on his contract. He won’t be re-signing with the UFC. Ariel Helwani first broke this news on Twitter.

Arlovski, who ended his promotional run on a four-fight losing streak, isn’t hanging up his gloves just yet. In an Instagram post, he told fans, “My chapter in the UFC is closed, but my book is not finished yet.”

After the International Fight Week pay-per-view, UFC CEO Dana White hinted that Arlovski’s time with the promotion had come to an end.

The 45-year-old finishes his second stint with a record of 23-18, 1 NC in the UFC. His career highlights include winning both undisputed and interim heavyweight titles.

Arlovski left the UFC in 2008 and fought for Strikeforce, Affliction, ONE Championship, and World Series of Fighting before returning in June 2014. This second run lasted over a decade.

He holds records for most fights and most wins in UFC heavyweight history. Additionally, he’s tied with Donald Cerrone for the most victories all-time in the UFC with 23.
