Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois Headlines Sept 21 London Card

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois will face off in a championship match at Wembley Stadium on September 21, with Dubois entering as the reigning IBF champion following Oleksandr Usyk’s vacating of the title.

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois have their championship match set. The long-rumored matchup was officially announced Wednesday.

Riyadh Season is promoting the bout, which will headline at Wembley Stadium in London on Sept. 21. Exciting times ahead for boxing fans!

Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) enters the bout as the reigning IBF champion. His interim title was promoted after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the IBF belt on Tuesday.

Usyk still holds the WBA, WBC, and WBO belts. He recently defeated Tyson Fury to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era.

A rematch between Usyk and Fury is set for Dec. 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. But back to Dubois—he’s got a big challenge ahead.

This past June, Dubois defeated Filip Hrgovic via eighth-round TKO to claim an interim title. That win put him in line to challenge Usyk.

However, with Usyk occupied with Fury, it now falls upon Joshua to be Dubois’ first challenger. A twist of fate? Perhaps.

Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) has seen a resurgence since losing a second time to Usyk in August 2022. Four straight wins have followed that loss.

Most recently, Joshua scored a stunning second-round knockout of former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Riyadh this past March. He’s looking to reclaim the IBF title he’s previously held twice before.

The following bouts were also announced for the undercard: Anthony Cacace vs. Josh Warrington; Joshua Buatsi vs. Willy Hutchinson; Tyler Denny vs. Hamzah Sheeraz; Josh Kelly vs. Liam Smith; Mark Chamberlain vs. Josh Padley.

An action-packed night awaits!
