Aung La N Sang Returns vs Shamil Erdogan at ONE 168 Denver

Former multi-division champion Aung La N Sang is set to return to action after over a year, facing undefeated Russian Shamil Erdogan in a middleweight bout at ONE 168 on September 6 in Denver.

It’s been over a year since former multi-division champion Aung La N Sang stepped into the cage. He’s finally making his return, facing undefeated Russian Shamil Erdogan in a middleweight bout at ONE 168 on Sept. 6 at the Ball Arena in Denver.

ONE Championship officials confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting on Wednesday.

Aung La N Sang endured the toughest run of his career, going 1-3 over four fights and losing both his light heavyweight and middleweight titles. But he’s bounced back with three consecutive wins.

His last fight was in May 2023 when he defeated Fan Rong by guillotine choke at the first-ever ONE Championship card in the United States. Now, over a year later, Aung La N Sang aims for a fourth straight victory against a top-rated prospect.

Erdogan enters this fight with a flawless 9-0 record, including a knockout win over Fan Rong in his ONE debut last June. Before his MMA career, Erdogan was an elite wrestler representing Turkey on the international stage.

After an impressive debut, Erdogan seeks an even bigger win by facing off against a former champion like Aung La N Sang this September.
