Azamat Murzakanov has withdrawn from his scheduled fight against Nikita Krylov at UFC 309, with no replacement announced yet.
Azamat Murzakanov is out of UFC 309. Bummer, right?
On Wednesday, MMA Fighting confirmed that Murzakanov won’t be facing Nikita Krylov next Saturday. No word yet on whether the UFC is hunting for a new opponent for him. Nolan King was the first to spill the beans.
Ranked No. 11 in the UFC light heavyweight rankings, Murzakanov remains unbeaten in his MMA journey. He’s clinched four victories since joining through the Contender Series in 2021. His last triumph? A knockout against Alonzo Menifield at UFC Abu Dhabi in August. He was eager to keep climbing the ranks.
Krylov, on the other hand, sits at No. 6 among light heavyweights. Once a heavyweight, he made a solid 5-2 run before leaving the UFC in 2017. Since his return in 2018, it’s been a rollercoaster ride! But hey, he’s on a three-fight winning streak now, having submitted Ryan Spann in March 2023.
Mark your calendars: UFC 309 happens on Nov. 16 at Madison Square Garden. The main event? A heavyweight title clash between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. It’s gonna be epic!
