Vinicius Oliveira and Bernardo Sopai, both new to the octagon, have agreed to face each other at the UFC Vegas 87 card, with both needing to sign bout agreements.
So, here’s the latest scoop. Vinicius Oliveira and Bernardo Sopai, both fresh faces in the octagon, are set to clash. It’s happening this Saturday at UFC Vegas 87. The venue? The UFC APEX. This juicy tidbit comes straight from the horse’s mouth – multiple insiders have spilled the beans to MMA Fighting. But, hey, it’s not a done deal yet. Both fighters still need to sign on the dotted line.
Oliveira was all set to go toe-to-toe with Yanis Ghemmouri. That was supposed to happen at the March 2 event. But Ghemmouri pulled out. Why? Well, that’s anyone’s guess.
Sopai, on the other hand, was prepping to defend his Allstars Fight Night bantamweight title. He was going to face Ricardo Monteiro on March 9 in Sweden. But then, he agreed to fight Oliveira. This 23-year-old hotshot is making his first octagon walk on a three-fight finishing streak. Talk about impressive! He’s stopped his opponents in 10 out of his 11 professional victories.
Oliveira, though, is no pushover. The former UAE Warriors bantamweight champion has 19 MMA wins under his belt. And guess what? He’s won all but two of them via stoppage. He’s got 15 knockouts to his name. His overall record? A solid 19-3. “Lokdog” flattened Victor Madrigal in three rounds to sign with the organization through Dana White’s Contender Series. And that was in September 2023.
UFC Vegas 87 isn’t just about Oliveira and Sopai, though. The main event? A five-round heavyweight clash between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Shamil Gaziev. And there’s more. Check out the updated lineup below:
