David Feldman plans to announce a historic bare-knuckle boxing tournament with a $25 million prize, open to participants from various combat sports, expected to be revealed in December and lasting approximately 11 months.
David Feldman has big plans. He wants to change a bare-knuckle boxer’s life forever. Intriguing, right?
During a chat on MMA Today with Din Thomas and Alan Jouban, Feldman spilled some exciting beans. BKFC is gearing up for a colossal tournament. The prize? A jaw-dropping $25 million. Although it’s not official yet, Feldman hopes to make the announcement by December.
"I’m about three weeks away from announcing this," Feldman teased. "It’ll be the biggest tournament in combat sports history, with the largest prize ever." A $25 million prize! They’re on the lookout for someone truly special.
Din Thomas, an analyst and former fighter with 36 MMA bouts under his belt, couldn’t resist quipping, "I’m coming out of retirement." Could he actually jump back in the ring?
Feldman hinted that both Thomas and Jouban could potentially join the fray if they wanted to return. The tournament isn’t just for current BKFC fighters. Nope! They’re casting a much wider net.
"We’re going to do tryouts," Feldman shared. "We’ll start with around a thousand hopefuls, whittle it down to 24, then eliminate 16 more. The final eight will battle for the big bucks."
Don’t worry; everyone else gets paid too. But only eight will fight for the ultimate prize.
This won’t be a one-night spectacle, though. Feldman estimates it’ll take about 11 months to wrap up. More details are on the way, but he promises fans will be amazed once everything’s official.
"Anyone from anywhere," Feldman emphasized. "Any organization, any combat sport—everyone’s welcome." He’s tight-lipped for now but expects people will say, "Holy shit, this is unbelievable," when the news drops.
Exciting times ahead!
