BKFC middleweight champion David Mundell is frustrated that another title in his division will be given out in December, questioning why Mike Perry or Eddie Alvarez haven’t called him out for a chance to become a BKFC champion and considering their upcoming fight for the “King of Violence” title to be a play belt and a setup for Perry’s victory.
BKFC middleweight champion David Mundell is frustrated that another title in his division will be given out in December. The organization recently announced a showdown between ex-UFC fighters Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez to crown the first-ever “King of Violence” champion. While Mundell understands that this new title is meant for promotion and selling pay-per-views, he wonders why Perry or Alvarez aren’t calling him out for a chance to become a BKFC champion. Mundell feels that the “King of Violence” title is just a play belt compared to his real championship belt.
Mundell has been requesting a fight against Perry ever since the UFC veteran joined BKFC, but his requests have been ignored. He believes that Perry is being set up for victory in his upcoming fight against Alvarez, as Alvarez is smaller and has a frame more suited for a lightweight fighter. Mundell claims that Perry is just tough and is not impressive, citing a lack of knockout victories. Despite this, Mundell acknowledges that Perry has headlined several massive cards in BKFC.
Although Mundell will be defending his title against Doug Coltrane, a 3-0 bare-knuckle fighter, he is frustrated that he hasn’t been given the same opportunities as Perry or Alvarez. Mundell states that he doesn’t see any other signed fighters who stand a chance against him and believes he will hold the belt for a long time. He expresses a desire to fight Perry or even one of the popular YouTubers for a big-money fight to support his family.
If Mundell successfully defends his title on Friday, he plans to be present at the Perry vs. Alvarez fight in December. He intends to make some noise and ensure that he is not overlooked in the future. Mundell is determined to prove himself as a true champion and deserving of recognition within the BKFC organization.
