Gorjan Slaveski has been stripped of his BKFC welterweight title for accepting a fight outside the organization without permission.
Gorjan Slaveski, the BKFC welterweight champ, has lost his title. That’s the latest from the bare-knuckle fighting promotion.
The announcement came on Thursday. It turns out Slaveski took a fight outside the organization without getting the green light first.
He’s all set to face Brandon Jenkins in the Karate Combat 43 card this Friday. The main event? Anthony Pettis vs. Benson Henderson.
BKFC President David Feldman wasn’t too pleased. He said, “Sadly, Gorjan accepted a fight outside the organization without our approval. As a result, we had to strip him of his welterweight title.” But that’s not all. Feldman added, “We’ll have more to say about the now vacant welterweight title soon.”
Slaveski’s record with BKFC was flawless. Six wins, zero losses, with four knockouts. He snagged the BKFC welterweight title just this past August. How? By beating UFC and Bellator veteran Jake Lindsey with a unanimous decision.
But now, just four months later, Slaveski’s been stripped of his title. BKFC’s got plans to crown a new champ in 2024.
