BKFC President David Feldman Anticipates Mainstream TV Deal Soon & Mike Perry’s Re-Signing

BKFC promoter David Feldman is moving forward from pay-per-view and hopes to secure a mainstream TV deal for the fast-growing bare-knuckle boxing promotion within two months.

David Feldman and his team experienced great success with BKFC 41, and he anticipates even bigger things to come. This past Saturday, Feldman’s bare-knuckle boxing promotion captivated the combat sports world with a star-studded event that featured former UFC stars. Former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez won a thrilling bout against Chad Mendes in the co-main event. The night concluded with Mike Perry winning over Luke Rockhold and engaging in a surreal faceoff with Conor McGregor.

Currently utilizing pay-per-view, Feldman is now seeking a linear television deal, which he revealed on The MMA Hour. “I’ve got two on the table right now that we’re going down the road on these,” Feldman said. “I can’t mention who they are just because we’re negotiating, but I think we’re going to get a mainstream TV deal here in the next two months.” A TV deal would be a significant step for the BKFC, which began in 2018 amid questions of legality and limited options for hosting bare-knuckle boxing events. Feldman sees pay-per-view as a necessity in the meantime, but his goal has always been to secure a spot on TV.

Feldman has invested heavily in the BKFC, even admitting to refinancing his house prior to BKFC 41 to ensure the event’s success. The risk paid off, and Feldman described it as the best feeling he has ever had in his life. Looking forward, Feldman hopes to hold four major events a year, with the next BKFC event tentatively scheduled for August 11; however, competitors for that card are yet to be determined.

One name Feldman knows he needs to keep is Mike Perry. The former UFC welterweight has become the face of the BKFC and mentioned after his recent win that the bout was the last of his current contract. Feldman is optimistic about their partnership, saying, “We know what he’s worth, we know his value, we’re working on other projects together. When both people are doing more than they’re supposed to do, it’s a great, great partnership.” He believes they will get a new deal done with Perry, ensuring the “Platinum” era continues within Feldman’s ring.
