Mike Perry, despite his frustrations over not being booked for a fight since July and jokingly “fired” by Conor McGregor, is set to return to BKFC with plans for a match in March 2025, as confirmed by BKFC president David Feldman, who is exploring various potential opponents, including Robbie Lawler.
Mike Perry can finally relax about his future with BKFC. The reigning "King of Violence" has been in a bit of a limbo, expressing frustration over not being booked for a fight since his knockout victory against Thiago Alves in April. After losing to Jake Paul in July, he called out former UFC champion Robbie Lawler but hasn’t heard back about his next match.
“It doesn’t seem to be panning out,” Perry shared on his Overdogs Podcast. He’s been left wondering, “Tell me something! I guess Conor [McGregor] really did fire me. What the f*ck, where’s my fight at?”
Interestingly, McGregor, who owns part of BKFC, had jokingly "fired" Perry after his loss to Paul. But turns out, there’s nothing for Perry to worry about. BKFC president David Feldman confirmed that plans are underway for Perry’s return, aiming for the first quarter of 2025.
“Looks like March for Mike,” Feldman told MMA Fighting. Despite Perry’s complaints, Feldman assures that discussions with Perry’s management are ongoing. “He’s coming back.”
Feldman wishes Perry hadn’t ventured into boxing with Paul, believing bare-knuckle fighting is Perry’s true domain. He hopes March will see Perry rekindle his flame and prove himself once again to BKFC fans.
Feldman also addressed McGregor’s pink slip joke, laughing it off. “Mike certainly is still with BKFC,” he chuckled. “He helped turn the corner for us in certain ways.”
As for opponents? There are plenty of options. Feldman isn’t ruling out a fight with Lawler if the UFC agrees and Lawler comes out of retirement.
Perry draws attention wherever he goes, making him a hot commodity in BKFC. Many fighters would jump at the chance to face him.
BKFC has no shortage of potential contenders eager to fight Perry. Dave Mundell and Austin Trout have both called him out. “One of those fights is going to happen in March,” Feldman promised, with an announcement expected soon.
