There’s been a lot of chatter about how Guskov and Anthony Smith, both light heavyweights, look alike. So, it was bound to happen that they’d cross paths. And guess what? They did, this Saturday night.
Guskov had just knocked out Zac Pauga in the first round. Impressive, right? UFC broadcaster Karyn Bryant was there, capturing the moment.

Bryant, being her usual self, joked that Guskov and Smith aren’t the same person. Smith’s response? “We’re close though.”
Guskov chimed in, “Maybe I am young, this is ‘old lion,’” referring to Smith’s “Lionheart” nickname.
After witnessing Guskov’s rise to 15-3 with his 13th career knockout victory, Smith conceded that this 31-year-old light heavyweight might soon be climbing the contender charts. “He looked incredible,” Smith said.
Post his win, Guskov hinted at a possible fight with Smith while talking to the media backstage at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Smith, a one-time UFC title challenger, currently holds the No. 12 spot in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. So, if Guskov gets a chance to fight Smith, it could be a significant profile boost for him.
