Brian Kelleher Reveals Devastating Injury Cancelling UFC Vegas 72 Appearance & Potential Return Timeline

Brian Kelleher has revealed that he has multiple issues with his neck that need to be addressed before the UFC will allow him to fight again.

Brian Kelleher’s career may not be over just yet. He was scheduled to face Journey Newson at UFC Vegas 72, but a few days prior to the fight, the UFC removed “Boom” from the card for undisclosed injury concerns. Kelleher himself did not make matters any more clear, lamenting the circumstances on social media and even hinting at possible retirement. Now, we know exactly what happened.

Kelleher explained, “I was in Vegas when this happened. I had already gotten there and I was dialed in, eating my meals, ready to cut weight, and my phone rang, it was my manager, and he told me he had some bad news. He was on a three-way line with Hunter Campbell, and that’s when they broke the news to me.” Kelleher revealed that he has multiple neck issues that need to be addressed before the UFC will allow him to fight again. He said there are multiple things going on, including disc herniations and nerve compression.
