Bruno Silva is out of UFC 313, with undefeated prospect Rei Tsuruya stepping in to face Joshua Van at the event on March 8 in Las Vegas.
Bruno Silva’s out of UFC 313. Yep, you heard it right.
On Monday, MMA Fighting confirmed the news: Silva won’t be facing Joshua Van at next month’s pay-per-view. Instead, Rei Tsuruya, an undefeated prospect, steps in against Van. Marcel Dorff broke the story first.
Van, currently ranked No. 15 in the UFC flyweight rankings, boasts a record of 12-2. He had a whirlwind 2024, fighting four times and snagging three wins. Just last December, the 23-year-old clinched a unanimous decision over Cody Durden at UFC 310.
Tsuruya? He’s got a spotless record of 10-0. The flyweight winner of Road to UFC Season 2, he made waves with his UFC debut last year, securing a unanimous decision win over Carlos Hernandez at UFC 303. Initially set to fight Stewart Nicoll at UFC 312, that bout was scrapped due to Nicoll’s injury.
Mark your calendars for March 8! UFC 313’s going down at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main event? A light heavyweight title clash between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev. Plus, don’t miss the five-round lightweight showdown between Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker in the co-main event.
