Callum Walsh Scores First-Round Knockout

Callum Walsh maintained his undefeated record with a first-round knockout victory over Dean Sutherland, improving to 13-0 and defending his WBC Continental Americas super welterweight title, in a fight promoted by UFC CEO Dana White.

Callum Walsh? Still undefeated! The Irish boxer scored a first-round knockout Sunday night. Where? At the Theatre at Madison Square Garden, New York—no big deal.

At just 24, Walsh is making waves. His record now stands at 13-0 with 11 knockouts. Impressive, right? He finished Dean Sutherland with seconds to spare in the opening round. Defended his WBC Continental Americas super welterweight belt like a champ. Check out the finish below!

As an amateur, Walsh was no slouch either—44 wins and 9 losses. But as a pro? Only three first-round finishes before this latest one. Those were his initial bouts between 2021 and 2022.

Guess who’s stepping into the boxing ring? UFC CEO Dana White! He teamed up with Walsh’s promoter, Tom Loeffler, to promote the fight. And yes, they aired it on UFC Fight Pass. White’s diving deeper into boxing, with UFC’s parent company TKO partnering with Saudi Arabian promoter Turki Alalshikh.

“The model is proven to deliver the fights that the fans want to see,” White said when announcing the partnership. “The best will fight the best.” Fighters climbing rankings, becoming champs—that’s the vision. Stay tuned for more details as they roll out!
