Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are reportedly set to face off in a super middleweight title bout in Las Vegas, likely in September, as part of a Riydah Season event.
Looks like Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are gearing up to give boxing fans a real treat. Exciting, right?
According to The Ring Magazine—owned by Riydah Season’s head honcho Turki Alalshikh—these two champs have agreements in place. Alvarez is set to defend his super middleweight titles against Crawford in a Riydah Season event in Las Vegas. September’s the month to watch, though the exact date? Still under wraps.
Alvarez has been on a roll, winning decisions in his last five bouts since losing to Dmitry Bivol back in May 2022. In 2024, he went undefeated, taking down Edgar Berlanga and Jamie Munguia. Oh, and let’s not forget his victory over Gennadiy Golovkin during this streak.
Crawford’s stepping up—literally—two weight classes to face Alvarez. Known as “Bud,” he’s a four-division titleholder who fought once in 2024. He snagged a decision win against Israil Madrimov in August, breaking his streak of 11 consecutive stoppages. Pound-for-pound, he’s still one of the best out there.
