Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford Rescheduled; Jake Paul Match Canceled

Canelo Alvarez has signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, which includes a highly anticipated bout against Terence Crawford, dismissing earlier rumors of a fight with Jake Paul.

Canelo Alvarez finds himself in the thick of boxing drama once again. The buzz? A possible showdown with Terence Crawford.

The Alvarez (62-2-2) vs. Crawford (41-0) superfight seemed off the table after The Ring Magazine reported it wasn’t happening. Then, ESPN threw another curveball, suggesting Canelo might face influencer Jake Paul (11-1) on Netflix this May.

But wait! Late Thursday, Turki Alalshikh announced Canelo’s four-fight deal with Riyadh Season. No Jake Paul or Netflix involved. Instead, Canelo’s second fight will be against Crawford.

Check out Alalshikh’s tweet where he boasts about the deal. Also, Crawford’s pumped response promises to shock the world come September.

ESPN claimed the Canelo-Paul fight was almost a done deal before Canelo signed with Alalshikh. Now, his first Riyadh Season bout could be on May 4 against Jermall Charlo or Bruno Surace. Then, it’s Crawford time in Vegas on September 13.

Looking ahead, Alvarez might face Dmitry Bivol again in February 2026, with Hamzah Sheeraz and Chris Eubank Jr. as other options. His final fight under this contract is penciled in for October 2026.

Jake Paul seems out of the picture for now, despite some mysterious tweets. Neither he nor Canelo have publicly addressed their rumored clash.

If Alvarez vs. Crawford happens, it’ll be a battle of two pound-for-pound greats. With Alvarez holding the super middleweight crown, he’ll have a size edge over welterweight star Crawford. Exciting times ahead!
