Cedric Doumbe is set to face Jaleel Willis at Bellator Paris on May 17, after his initial opponent, Derek Anderson, had to withdraw due to a foot injury.
Well, Cedric Doumbe didn’t have to twiddle his thumbs for long. He’s got a new dance partner already.
Who’s the lucky guy? It’s Jaleel Willis.
Where’s the showdown happening? At the Bellator Paris on May 17. The venue? None other than the Accor Arena in Paris.
Doumbe was supposed to face Derek Anderson, but life had other plans. Poor Anderson had to step back on Tuesday. Why? A nasty foot injury, that’s why.
Now, let’s talk about Willis. This ain’t his first rodeo. It’s his eighth Bellator appearance, but his first under the PFL umbrella. He’s 32 and looking to bounce back from a first-round TKO loss. Who handed him that loss? Ramazan Kuramagomedov, at Bellator 297 last June. Willis has been on a bit of a losing streak lately, dropping three of his past four bouts.
Doumbe? He’s fresh off his first pro MMA loss. Who was the culprit? Baysangur Chamsoudinov at PFL Europe 1 in March. The match ended with a controversial referee stoppage. Doumbe, a former GLORY Kickboxing champion, is one of PFL’s rising stars. This will be his first time stepping into the Bellator cage.
Oh, and the main event at Bellator Paris? It’s a bantamweight title fight. Who’s fighting? Patchy Mix and Magomed Magomedov.
