Cédric Doumbé is set to face off with undefeated prospect Baissangour Chamsoudinov in the main event at a PFL Europe card in Paris on March 7, marking Doumbé’s second appearance after an impressive PFL debut.
Cédric Doumbé, the man’s on fire. Fresh off his PFL debut, he’s all set to headline the main event in Paris on March 7.
The venue? Accor Arena. His opponent? Baissangour Chamsoudinov, an undefeated hotshot. PFL officials spilled the beans on Thursday.
Doumbé’s no rookie. He’s got more than 80 kickboxing fights under his belt. He was all set to join the UFC roster in 2022. But, alas, a medical hiccup threw a wrench in the works.
The UFC’s loss, PFL’s gain. Doumbé inked a deal with the rising organization, stepping into the ring for the first time last September. And boy, did he make an entrance. Nine seconds. That’s all it took for him to KO his opponent and notch his first PFL win.
Fast forward six months. Doumbé’s back for round two, with the next PFL Europe schedule on the horizon.
Chamsoudinov? He’s got an 8-0 record. Trains at the MMA Factory in France. His coach? Fernand Lopez. The 22-year-old Chechen-born fighter’s last four fights were in Ares FC, a Lopez-owned promotion. Four wins, the latest a second-round knockout.
Doumbé vs. Chamsoudinov. The main event. More fights on the PFL Europe card to be announced. Stay tuned, folks.
