Bellator veteran Chris Avila voiced his dissatisfaction with Misfits Boxing after a chaotic fight night in Nashville, despite earning a split-decision win over Jake Bostwick.
Chris Avila, it seems, isn’t exactly thrilled with Misfits Boxing. This comes after a rather intriguing night in Nashville.
Now, Avila is a Bellator veteran. He managed to secure a split-decision victory over Jake Bostwick. The judges’ scores? They were 37-39, 40-36, and 39-37. That happened on Saturday night.
But wait, there’s more. The post-fight interview? It got a tad more interesting. Avila was asked about his thoughts on Misfits Boxing. They also wanted to know if he saw a future with them.
Avila’s response? Well, he wasn’t too sure about Misfits. “No disrespect,” he said, “but this is a goofy-ass show. There’s a lot of stupid shit going on.” But he was there to do his job. He acknowledged the good fight and everything about Misfits.
Next up for Avila? He’s got a fight scheduled for June 1. Coincidentally, it’s the same night his teammate Nate Diaz is set to take on Jorge Masvidal. It’s a pay-per-view boxing match. Avila is hoping for a smoother night, given that his Saturday fight had a rocky start. He had to change both gloves before the fight.
And after the fight? Misfits had to postpone the main event. Why? The ring needed fixing. Then, the main event got delayed again. The 2-on-1 fight turned into a 1-on-1 and lasted less than a minute.
