Colby Covington Responds to Paddy Pimblett After UFC 314 Confrontation

Colby Covington and Paddy Pimblett engaged in a heated verbal altercation backstage at UFC 314, exchanging insults over the quality of their respective opponents and each other’s relevance in the sport.

Colby Covington’s at it again, stirring up another feud. This time, it’s with Paddy Pimblett. The always vocal welterweight made waves backstage at UFC 314 in Miami when he clashed verbally with Pimblett.

Covington questioned the caliber of Pimblett’s opponents. Pimblett, not one to back down, fired back by highlighting Covington’s recent losing streak. Oh, the drama!

Pimblett shined in the co-main event, delivering a powerful performance against Michael Chandler. With a third-round TKO, he bumped his UFC record to an impressive 7-0.

Post-fight, Pimblett didn’t mince words. He called Covington “irrelevant” during an ESPN interview. Naturally, Covington couldn’t let that slide and responded through his YouTube channel.

“Paddy wanted to say some shit when I was walking by,” Covington recounted. “I had to confront him.” Harsh words followed as he belittled Pimblett’s achievements and appearance.

Covington’s critique wasn’t entirely baseless. His math on Pimblett’s last three wins checks out—Chandler, Ferguson, and Green weren’t exactly on winning streaks. Yet, Covington conveniently ignored his own opponents’ records.

His past victories over Masvidal, Woodley, and Lawler? All were on losing streaks too. Pot calling the kettle black much? Meanwhile, Covington himself hasn’t tasted victory since March 2022.

Despite the stats and numbers game, Covington’s disdain for Pimblett is crystal clear. Should “The Baddy” ever decide to step up to 170 pounds, Covington will be ready and waiting.

“Paddy Pimblett’s a little b*tch,” Covington declared. “He needs to stop using my name for relevance.” Strong words from a man who thrives on controversy.

When Pimblett stops cutting weight and steps into a “real man’s weight class,” Covington promises he’ll be there for a showdown. Until then, the war of words continues unabated.
