Colby Covington expresses his disdain for Kamaru Usman, whom he accuses of cheating in their past fights, as he prepares to return to the octagon against Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa.
Colby Covington still won’t be inviting Kamaru Usman over for the holidays. Nope, not happening. Their rivalry? Still simmering.
Covington’s stepping back into the octagon this Saturday. It’s been a year. He’s facing Joaquin Buckley in the main event at UFC Tampa. “Chaos” recently jumped on a Twitch stream to chat with fans. One question stood out: Which opponent does he hate the most?
His answer? No surprise there—Kamaru Usman. Or as Covington calls him, “Marty Juiceman.” Why? Well, Covington claims he’s a cheater and a coward. Strong words.
“I’ve never cheated,” Covington says. “Done everything by the book.” No shortcuts for him, he insists. Just hard work and dedication.
Their history is intense. Usman stopped Covington in their first clash at UFC 245 back in December 2019. But Covington bounced back, defeating Tyron Woodley ten months later, earning another shot at Usman at UFC 268 in November 2021.
That rematch? A nail-biter. Usman won by a super close decision, keeping his title. Covington got yet another chance after beating Jorge Masvidal but fell short against Leon Edwards at UFC 296 last year.
And so, the saga continues…
