Conor McGregor Appeals Civil Case Judgment on Sexual Assault

Conor McGregor has filed an appeal to overturn a civil lawsuit judgment that found him liable for a 2018 sexual assault in Ireland, while also facing a separate sexual assault lawsuit in the United States, both of which he denies.

Conor McGregor has officially appealed a civil lawsuit judgment against him related to an alleged 2018 sexual assault. Yep, the Irish fighter’s taking it back to court. Last Friday, he filed this appeal, hoping to overturn the decision that found him liable and ordered him to pay €248,603.60 (about $258,440).

Just days after the trial wrapped up, McGregor promised he’d appeal. He’s sticking to his guns on this one, insisting he’s innocent in the case involving Nikita Hand. She accused him of assaulting her at a hotel in Dublin.

In November, McGregor took to social media, saying, “People want to hear from me, I needed time.” He admitted mistakes—like responding to Hand’s outreaches—but maintained everything was consensual. His words were raw: “I should have shut the party down.”

He also added, “As much as I regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual,” emphasizing that witnesses backed him up under oath. His legal team is already on the appeal.

During the trial, Hand’s attorneys painted a grim picture, accusing McGregor of rape and battery. But McGregor stood firm during testimony, describing the encounter as “athletic” and consensual.

The jury found McGregor liable for sexual assault but cleared his friend James Lawrence of any wrongdoing. Lucky guy.

More drama unfolded when a court ordered McGregor not to release CCTV footage featuring Hand. The judge demanded he destroy or return all copies with a sworn statement confirming deletion.

Hand’s attorney wasn’t satisfied with McGregor’s affidavit, calling it “entirely inadequate.” A new hearing is set for March 6. Mark your calendars!

Beyond Ireland, McGregor faces another lawsuit in the U.S., accused of sexual assault post-Miami Heat game appearance. No criminal charges here either.

His attorney, Barbara Llanes, released a strong denial after this lawsuit popped up in January. She stated that after thorough investigation, there was no case back then. Now? “A new false story,” she claims confidently. They’re hopeful this one will get tossed too.
