Conor McGregor backs Nate Diaz in Jake Paul fight

Conor McGregor is rooting for Nate Diaz to win over Jake Paul in their upcoming boxing match, although he likely won’t be in attendance to watch it.

Conor McGregor, the former UFC double champion, has shared his prediction for the upcoming boxing match between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul in August. Despite McGregor’s past rivalry with Diaz, he is throwing his support behind the Stockton native to win the bout.

“I think Nate Diaz slaps the head off him, and I look forward to seeing it,” McGregor told Inside Fighting.

However, Paul didn’t take kindly to McGregor’s comments and responded via Twitter. “I’m a better boxer than you (Conor) and will do what you couldn’t and knock Nate out,” Paul tweeted. Paul also challenged McGregor to fight as the co-main event on the same night as Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano in Dublin.

Despite his pick for the fight, McGregor admitted that he probably won’t be in attendance to watch it live. “I’ll probably be on the Lamborghini just off the coast of Sicily,” McGregor said while gambling in Las Vegas.

The highly-anticipated bout between Diaz and Paul has been generating buzz among fight fans and celebrities alike. Both fighters have been training hard in preparation for the match. Diaz is looking to prove that he is still a boxing force to be reckoned with after his last fight in 2019, while Paul aims to continue his undefeated boxing record after defeating Ben Askren earlier this year.

As the fight draws closer, the tension and excitement continue to build. Fans will have to wait until August to see whether Diaz or Paul will come out on top in the ring.
