Conor McGregor Bets Big on Ngannou to Lose at PFL Giants Battle

Conor McGregor placed a $500,000 bet on Renan Ferreira to knock out Francis Ngannou in the PFL Battle of the Giants, hoping for a payout of $1,675,000, but after Ngannou’s victory, McGregor tweeted and then deleted a message about getting his money back.

Conor McGregor’s got half a million reasons to bet against Francis Ngannou. Yep, "The Notorious" himself announced on social media that he’s placed a whopping $500,000 bet on Renan Ferreira to knock out Ngannou in the PFL Battle of the Giants main event this Saturday. This fight marks Ngannou’s return to MMA since his last title defense at UFC 270 back in January 2022.

Ngannou has never been finished by strikes in MMA, but boxing? Different story. He was brutally knocked out by Anthony Joshua in March, which left him with an 0-2 record as a boxer. One of those losses was a close split decision against Tyson Fury.

If Ferreira defies the odds and wins, McGregor’s looking at a $1,675,000 payout. Ferreira’s no slouch either—11 of his 13 pro wins are by KO/TKO. His resume includes a recent victory over Ryan Bader and a successful 2023 run that crowned him the PFL heavyweight champ and earned him a cool million-dollar prize.

McGregor loves sharing these big bets, usually tied to Duelbits. Back in July, he cashed in another $500,000 when he correctly predicted Nate Diaz would beat Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match. It’s like his side hustle or something.

Oh, and after losing this latest bet, McGregor tweeted—and then deleted—this gem: "THE RICH GET RICHER ILL GET THAT BACK." Classic Conor. You can still find screenshots of that tweet floating around online.
