Conor McGregor is set to go to trial in Ireland on November 5 for a personal injury case filed by a woman alleging assault, after the trial was delayed due to his UFC commitments.
Conor McGregor is heading to court in Ireland. A judge has set a trial date after a woman accused the UFC superstar of assault.
On Thursday, Justice Alexander Owens announced the trial would begin on Nov. 5. This personal injury case was initially filed back in 2021. The Irish Mirror was first to report these details.
The woman, reportedly acquainted with McGregor, is seeking unspecified damages. Once proceedings start in November, a jury will decide the outcome.
Originally, the hearing was slated for June or July. However, McGregor’s attorneys requested a delay due to his scheduled fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June. They argued that preparing for the bout made it logistically impossible to attend court and that potential injuries could complicate matters further.
Despite objections from the plaintiff’s attorney, the judge agreed to postpone the trial. Ironically, McGregor never fought Chandler because he broke a toe during training.
Now, with the delay granted, the trial is firmly set for November. Details about the alleged 2018 incident remain undisclosed due to Irish privacy laws. Interestingly, the woman also filed suit against one of McGregor’s associates.
