Conor McGregor mocked the PFL’s Battle of the Giants pay-per-view with sarcastic tweets and comments, promoting bare-knuckle fighting and asserting UFC’s superiority, before deleting most of his posts.
Conor McGregor was at it again with his tweet-and-delete antics on Saturday night. He spent the evening taking jabs at the PFL during their Battle of the Giants pay-per-view broadcast.
The former UFC champ wasn’t impressed with the action—or lack thereof—highlighting that four out of five fights ended in decisions. The only exception? Francis Ngannou‘s brutal first-round finish of Renan Ferreira, which had everyone talking.
McGregor also offered some colorful commentary on the Johnny Eblen vs. Fabian Edwards bout. In a now-deleted video, he sarcastically expressed his “excitement” over Eblen’s grappling dominance. “Wow! Oh my god! No! What the hell?” he exclaimed, dripping with sarcasm.
As if that wasn’t enough, he continued his sardonic play-by-play during Cris Cyborg vs. Larissa Pacheco. “Wow! This is f*cking excitement,” he declared, clearly poking fun at the fight’s pace.
Earlier, McGregor took a moment to promote his latest business venture with BKFC, calling it more thrilling than anything else currently available. Without naming names, it was obvious he was throwing shade at PFL. “Bare knuckle is where it’s at,” he tweeted before hitting delete.
“It’s sink or swim in bare knuckle,” McGregor added, painting a picture of a sport with no room for hesitation or escape. The raw intensity and unpredictability seemed to captivate him.
Despite his newfound love for bare-knuckle brawls, McGregor didn’t forget to give props to the UFC. In a final deleted message after the PFL event, he stated, “UFC has zero competition in MMA.”
By the time Ngannou was wrapping up his victory against Ferreira, most of McGregor’s tweets mocking PFL had vanished into thin air. Ah, the fleeting nature of social media commentary!
