Conor McGregor Launches Record Label in Ireland

Conor McGregor, expanding his business ventures beyond the octagon, has launched Greenback Records in Dublin, aiming to offer fair deals to artists in an industry he believes needs an overhaul.

Conor McGregor really is taking Jay-Z’s advice to heart. He’s not just a businessman. He’s a business, man.

The Irish superstar is expanding his footprint outside the octagon. McGregor’s latest venture? Launching his own record label based in his homeland.

Dubbed Greenback Records, it’s touted as Dublin’s first major label. McGregor partners with Richard Buck and Julian O’Brien on this project.

Sunday World in Ireland first reported the news.

Greenback Records will be a “multi-genre” producer. Artists will earn a fair share of profits, with payouts “currently unheard of in the industry.”

“I am excited to create Ireland’s first major record label,” McGregor said about the launch. “To offer music artists a fair deal and properly reward them for their talent.”

“This industry has needed an overhaul for a long time,” he added. “I’m thrilled for myself, McGregor Sports & Entertainment, to partner with Richard and Julian to bring Greenback Records to life!”

Greenback Records has reportedly signed numerous artists already. No announcements were made at the launch.

Starting his own record label is just another notch on McGregor’s business belt. He’s become the biggest draw in UFC history.

Most notably, he started Proper No. 12 whiskey brand. It was eventually sold to Proximo Spirits in a deal worth $600 million.

McGregor took home a big chunk of that cash as the original founder. He still promotes Proper No. 12.

He also launched Forged Irish Stout beer recently. The brand continues expanding into new markets globally.

In April, McGregor became part owner of BKFC too.

Regarding his fighting career, he hasn’t competed since 2021. He was expected to return in June but suffered a broken toe.

This injury forced him out of his scheduled matchup against Michael Chandler.

McGregor has teased a return before the end of 2024 though nothing official from UFC yet.
