Conor McGregor & Michael Chandler Exchange Mysterious Voice Messages for UFC 303 Fight Hype

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler have begun to hype their upcoming UFC 303 welterweight clash on June 29, exchanging taunts on social media following the official announcement of the fight.

Well, well, well. Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler are at it again. They’re set to face off at UFC 303, but why wait till then to start the trash talk, right?

Both fighters are already stirring the pot on social media. This comes after the official announcement of their welterweight clash on June 29. The news broke at the UFC 300 post-fight presser last Saturday.

Remember when McGregor teased this match-up on New Year’s Eve? Yeah, he initially hinted it’d be at 185 pounds. But now, it’s all signed and sealed.

The hype for this grudge match is real. McGregor started it off with a cryptic voice message. “We’re going to fight right now?” he said, his voice oozing faux terror. “We’re going to do this right now? Right here, right now?” Classic McGregor.

Chandler shot back with a short, sing-songy message. “Conor… it’s too late to be scared,” he said. Oh, the drama!

This feud isn’t new, though. Chandler’s been gunning for a fight with the ex-two-division champ for ages. They even coached opposing teams on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. Everyone thought they’d be booked against each other after the season, but the official word only came out this past weekend.

It’s been a while since McGregor stepped into the octagon. Almost three years, to be exact. Remember that leg break during his fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021? Yeah, he’s been recovering from that. Plus, he’s been dabbling in other entertainment gigs, like his recent role in the Road House remake. His last win? That was against Donald Cerrone in January 2020.

Chandler’s had a bit of a rough patch too. The three-time Bellator lightweight champ and UFC title contender has lost three of his last four fights. His UFC record is just 2-3, but hey, he’s bagged four post-fight bonuses, including two Fight of the Night awards. His brawl with Justin Gaethje at UFC 268 even got voted Fight of the Year by MMA Fighting.

So, mark your calendars. UFC 303 is happening on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It’s the grand finale of the annual International Fight Week event. Can’t wait, can you?
