Conor McGregor stole the spotlight at BKFC Spain by stepping in to prevent a potential brawl between Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto during the ceremonial weigh-ins, while also playfully raising the lightweight title.
Conor McGregor jumped into the spotlight during a heated face-off at BKFC Spain. Lightweights Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto are set to clash in Marbella, Spain, with a vacant title up for grabs. Yet, it was McGregor who grabbed all the attention on Friday.
As Tenaglia and Soto nearly threw punches onstage at the weigh-ins, “The Notorious” himself stepped in to cool things down. Quite a scene! Watch the video below if you haven’t already.
McGregor, once a two-division UFC champ and now part-owner of BKFC since April, seemed to be enjoying every moment. He slid right between the fighters, defusing the tension with ease. Classic Conor!
With gold glinting in his eyes, McGregor couldn’t resist lifting the lightweight title over his head. He laughed heartily, showing it off to the crowd like a kid with a new toy.
Saturday’s BKFC event is streaming live on DAZN from Marbella Arena. Besides the main event, there are two other title fights: Austin Trout vs. Rico Franco at 165 pounds and David Mundell vs. Danny Christie at 175 pounds.
Meanwhile, McGregor has been out of action since July 2021. He’s waiting for his next UFC booking after an injury sidelined him from facing Michael Chandler this past June. Wonder what’s next for him?
