Conor McGregor is hinting at a UFC comeback after a positive conversation with Dana White, reigniting his rivalry with Michael Chandler, who reminded McGregor of their past interactions and expressed interest in a future fight despite previous setbacks.
Here we go again.
Conor McGregor’s at it once more, hinting at a comeback. He teased a chat with UFC CEO Dana White, leaving him optimistic about the future.
On Twitter, the ex-two-division champ, who’s been out since breaking his leg in 2021, boasted his 19 MMA knockouts. “Great chat Dana White, love your thinking!” he added. That cryptic note? Could mean anything. Michael Chandler quickly jumped in, recalling their TUF coaching days in 2023.
“Remember in the cold tub during the TUF coaches’ challenge you said I’d be your 20th [knockout],” Chandler wrote. “Show up and try me.”
Chandler was supposed to face McGregor in June, but a broken toe sidelined the Irish star.
After that setback, UFC didn’t reschedule. White later hinted McGregor might return late 2025.
Chandler, having waited nearly two years for McGregor, moved on to a rematch with Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 in November.
Sadly for Chandler, Oliveira dominated him over five rounds, leading to a lopsided decision loss.
Despite this hiccup, McGregor still seems keen on settling scores with Chandler when he’s ready to re-enter the octagon.
“It’s you!” McGregor tweeted (then deleted). “Rest up and I’ll see you at the top!.”
McGregor echoed Chandler’s catchphrase “see you at the top,” suggesting their rivalry’s alive. But who knows if or when they’ll clash?
