Conor McGregor and Mike Perry had a light-hearted face-off at the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships, with Perry requesting McGregor’s presence in the ring and the Irishman showing interest in potentially fighting in bare knuckle competition someday.
Conor McGregor recently made an appearance at the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships in Denver, where he faced off with Mike Perry. Perry had just come off a victorious match against Luke Rockhold in the BKFC main event, and after requesting McGregor’s presence in the ring, the two engaged in a light-hearted conversation, with Perry praising McGregor’s skills. McGregor also expressed his interest in potentially fighting in bare knuckle competition in the future, lauding the game’s incredible set-up, matchmaking, and storytelling.
However, despite McGregor’s willingness to fight Perry, a match between the two is unlikely to happen anytime soon as McGregor still has unfinished business and a contract with the UFC. His next opponent is expected to be Michale Chandler later this year, following his clearance under the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s UFC Athlete Testing protocols. McGregor has been recovering from a horrific broken leg that he suffered during his third bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. In the meantime, he has been making his feature film acting debut in the remake of Road House, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
In other news, McGregor recently announced a new Netflix documentary on his recovery journey. Despite his absence from the ring, the fighter remains a prominent figure in the MMA community, with fans eagerly anticipating his next match-up in the UFC.
