Jon Jones is considered the greatest of all time by many including one of his greatest rivals Daniel Cormier.
Jones has never been defeated in the octagon. Daniel Cormier believes that Jone’s streak will continue. Cormier in an interview with BT Sport was asked if Jones has run out of opponents.
“There are main contenders at light heavyweight Dominick Reyes and Corey Anderson. But when you look at Jones’s biggest rivalries with Rashad Evans and two fights with me were big-time box office deals. Those weren’t fabricated. They need to feel that there’s a threat”.
One opponent that many believe can beat Jones is Israel Adesanya. Cormier was in high praise of Adesanya.
“I think he’s a star and so comfortable in the spotlight and not many people can live like that”.
Adesanya and Jones have taken shots at each other on social media the past few months. Jones has called out Adesanya for a fight sooner then later however Adesanya has responded that he wants time to mature before stepping in the ring with the best.
When asked if Israel Adesanya is the man the defeat Jones, Cormier was hesitant in believing anyone can beat Jones.
“I don’t know who beats Jon Jones. Obviously you guys know my feelings towards Jon Jones but he’s good. I think it will take a heavyweight who could put the lights out. I just don’t know if those guys can beat Jones over 25 minutes. Look at me, I feel like I’m one of the best fighters of all time and he beat me twice”.
Jon Jones is set to headline UFC 247 on February 8th against Dominik Reyes. Israel Adesanya will headline UFC 248 March 7th against Yoel Romero.
Cormier is not booked for a fight but is targeting a return in the summer for a trilogy matchup against Stipe Miocic.
