Dan Hooker recently underwent another surgery, his second in 2023, after breaking his arm in sparring, and while some may not be in favor of this, Hooker is eager to return to fighting once again.
Dan Hooker, a well-known UFC fighter, underwent another surgery on Monday. This comes after he had to pull out of a scheduled bout against Bobby Green, with Jalin Turner now taking his place. It has been a rough year for Hooker, who initially injured his hand before a fight with Turner, leading to the bout being rescheduled. Although he managed to win that fight, he ended up breaking his arm, resulting in multiple surgeries over the summer.
In a social media post, Hooker shared a photo of himself after the surgery, along with an update, saying, “Surgery done and dusted this morning. Not my first and definitely won’t be my last time under the knife haha.” Despite the challenges he’s faced, he remains optimistic, adding, “Can see how this isn’t everyones cup of tea but I’m built for this game. Just a scratch baby, can’t wait to scrap again.”
Hooker also revealed that the injury occurred during sparring and that the bone had never fully healed, leading to the break. In his own words, “My hunger to compete got the best of me. I was too eager to fight under the lights again and put on a show that would be remembered.” He acknowledged the need to take better care of himself and ensure proper recovery before returning to action, stating, “Every set back in this game is an opportunity to learn and grow.”
Despite the setbacks, Hooker is currently on a two-fight win streak and is determined to come back stronger. He ended his post by reflecting on the lessons learned from this experience: “Wake up call to take better care of myself and recover properly before getting back to action. Every set back in this game is an opportunity to learn and grow.” With his resilient spirit, it’s clear that Hooker is not backing down and is ready to face whatever comes his way in the future.
