Dana White Anticipates $1 Billion Revenue from Zuckerberg vs. Musk Boxing Negotiations

UFC President Dana White says a potential fight between business magnates Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk could be the most profitable event in sports history, with both billionaires expressing interest and having martial arts background.

Dana White, the UFC President, opines that a speculative combat between business tycoons Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk would most likely generate the highest revenue in sports history. Over the summer, an interesting idea aroused when Zuckerberg, the head of Facebook, and Musk, Twitter’s chief, indicated their willingness to confront each other in a physical fight. This unique proposition emerged following Zuckerberg’s revelation of Threads as a rival to Twitter, sparking a conversation about resolving their differences in the UFC ring. Despite discussions on the potential match waning in recent times, White asserts that efforts are underway to materialize this match.

On the “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” podcast, White expressed with certainty that Zuckerberg and Musk indeed wished to fight each other. He amusingly shared that the Coliseum was being considered as the venue for this high-profile fight, and negotiations about holding the event at that historic location were in progress with the cultural authorities in Italy. He added that in line with any other UFC fight, both billionaires would have to undergo drug tests if the fight happens.

As for the participants’ preparedness, White appears to believe that they could provide a fairly competitive match. He mentioned Zuckerberg, at 38, had a penchant for MMA and a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, even going as far as participating in recent grappling tournaments. Musk, on the other hand, is a 52-year-old judo enthusiast who underwent some training with Georges St-Pierre. “Zuckerberg takes this very seriously,” White remarked, stating how he is an avid UFC and MMA fan. He also recognized Musk’s proficiency in judo, calling him a legitimate judo guy.

In anticipation of the revenues that such a unique event could bring, White envisions a spectacular undercard featuring numerous remarkable fights, leading up to the main event featuring the two celebrated billionaires. He believes that the novelty and scale of the event would attract viewership from around the world, predicting it would even exceed that of well-known boxing matches like Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather. He enthusiastically hypothesized, “Think about how big that fight is: two of the richest, most powerful guys in the world are going to fight on the biggest stage ever. Who doesn’t want to see that fight?” and continued, “Everybody would watch it. It’s a huge — [Donald] Trump would have to fight [Joe] Biden for a fight to be bigger than that.” At the prospect of exponential revenues, White concluded, “I think this thing does a billion dollars in revenue.”
