Despite being a strong supporter of Donald Trump during the 2024 election campaign, UFC CEO Dana White has no interest in pursuing a political role or joining Trump’s administration.
With President-elect Donald Trump assembling his cabinet before stepping into office in January, don’t bet on seeing Dana White’s name in the mix. Nope, not happening.
Even though White was a major supporter during Trump’s 2024 campaign—heck, he even spoke at Trump’s victory bash—the UFC CEO remains uninterested in politics. He’s been consistent about this; running for office just isn’t his thing, even with Trump heading back to the White House soon.
“I’m in the fight business, which is the dirtiest, nastiest business,” White shared with the Sports Business Journal. “We all hate each other and we’re all fighting every day.”
“There’s nothing dirtier than politics. It’s disgusting. It’s gross. I want nothing to do with it.” Strong words from a man who knows a thing or two about battles.
Despite White’s clear stance on avoiding political roles, it’s no surprise his name popped up as a possible candidate. His close connection to Trump makes it understandable.
Take Linda McMahon, for example. Former WWE executive and now nominated as Secretary of Education. She helped steer WWE before its merger with UFC under one big umbrella.
White has been vocal for Trump since the 2016 and 2020 elections. But in 2024? He became one of Trump’s most ardent supporters.
He didn’t just hit up the Republican National Convention like before; he also jumped on interviews and TV spots to push Trump’s agenda leading up to the election. Quite the media blitz!
Once Trump takes office in January, White will surely keep those ties strong. But joining the administration? That’s not on his agenda.
