Dana White Reacts to Volkov’s Controversial Loss to Gane

Alexander Volkov and UFC CEO Dana White were both upset by Volkov’s controversial split decision loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC 310, with White expressing his disagreement and promising to make it right, while Volkov criticized the judges for costing him a potential opportunity to challenge interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.

Alexander Volkov wasn’t the only one fuming over his split decision loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC 310. Nope, not by a long shot.

As Volkov stormed out of the cage, visibly frustrated, he bumped into none other than UFC CEO Dana White. White was just as miffed, telling Volkov he deserved the win. The crowd’s roar of disapproval when the decision was announced? It said it all.

Speaking through a translator, White expressed his frustration. He hoped to somehow make it up to Volkov in the future. Fingers crossed?

“You got f*cked,” White bluntly stated in an ESPN video. “It’s horrible. I don’t know what we’ll do but we’ll try to make it right by you. The whole f*cking arena thought you won. They f*cked that one up bad. I’ll talk to you soon. I apologize.”

Volkov was left stunned, especially after dominating the second round and finishing strong on top of Gane. Meanwhile, Gane clung on for a potential kimura submission that never happened.

Even Gane seemed caught off guard by the decision. He exited the octagon only to return for his post-fight chat with Joe Rogan.

After his chat with White, Volkov vented his anger to reporters about the judges’ call, which might’ve cost him a shot at interim heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall in 2025.

“It was a bullshit decision, for sure,” Volkov declared. “I’m absolutely sure I won. I did much more than Gane throughout the fight.”

“Who scored this fight? Who are these judges?” Volkov questioned, baffled by their decision-making process. “I don’t see any damage from him to me.”

The split decision snapped Volkov’s four-fight win streak, which boasted wins over Sergei Pavlovich and Tai Tuivasa.

Now, Volkov waits to see how the UFC plans to “make it right.” Will it be monetary compensation or perhaps a bigger fight on his return next year? Only time will tell.
