Bobby Green has a new opponent, Jalin Turner, for the co-main event of UFC Austin on Dec. 2 after Dan Hooker had to withdraw due to an arm injury.
Bobby Green has a new opponent for the promotion’s return to the Lone Star State. UFC CEO Dana White announced Thursday that Green now faces Jalin Turner in the co-main event of UFC Austin, which takes place Dec. 2 at Moody Center. Turner replaces his most recent opponent Dan Hooker, who was forced to withdraw with an arm injury. According to White, Hooker injured the same arm as he did in the split decision win over Turner at UFC 290 this past July. The Green vs. Hooker fight was scheduled for five rounds, but with Turner stepping in on short notice, it will now be a three-round bout.
Green enters the bout on the heels of back-to-back finishes of Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson. “King” was hopeful he would find a new opponent following Hooker’s injury, and he got his wish. After an impressive five-fight win streak, Turner dropped consecutive split decisions to Hooker and Mateusz Gamrot, and will look to get back on track in the promotion’s deepest division.
