Robbie Lawler will retire after his final fight with Niko Price at UFC 290, after being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
UFC president Dana White recently announced details about the upcoming International Fight Week in Las Vegas, which will culminate in the UFC 290 event at T-Mobile Arena on July 8th. This exciting week includes the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony, where Robbie Lawler will be inducted before his final fight and subsequent retirement on Saturday night.
Lawler will fight Niko Price at UFC 290 in his final matchup, which will headline the Preliminary Card live on ESPN+ and ESPN. Lawler’s induction into the UFC Hall of Fame is a testament to his iconic bout opposite Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 in 2015.
White confirmed that after Lawler faces Price, he will retire from an incredible 22-year career. As a former UFC, Elite XC, Icon Sport, and SuperBrawl champion, Lawler has won multiple Fighter of the Year and Fight of the Year awards and has battled some of the biggest names in the sport. He currently holds a record of 29-16 (1 NC).
In addition to Lawler’s final fight, White also announced the official main card for UFC 290. The card will feature a UFC featherweight unification bout between current titleholder Alexander Volkanovski and interim champion Yair Rodriguez in the main event. Brandon Moreno will put his flyweight title on the line opposite No. 2 ranked Alexandre Pantoja in the co-main event, while the rest of the main card consists of exciting matchups between Robert Whittaker vs. Dricus du Plessis, Jalin Turner vs. Dan Hooker, and Bo Nickals vs. Tresean Gore.
