Dana White announced that he will award two Fight of the Night bonuses at UFC 303, giving an extra $100,000 total to the fighters, due to the difficulty in choosing just one standout fight for International Fight Week 2024.
Dana White was uncertain which of the matchups at UFC 303 might steal the show on Saturday night. So, he decided to hand out two Fight of the Night bonuses.
The UFC CEO opted to toss out an extra $100,000 ($50,000 to each fighter). This decision came after he was asked about the difficulty in choosing just one outstanding fight on a card that caps off International Fight Week 2024.
As a result, White promised two Fight of the Night bonuses. This only ups the ante for the athletes competing.
“Yeah, f*ck it, I’ll do it,” White said. The crowd in Las Vegas roared with approval.
UFC featherweight Brian Ortega tried his luck for more money. He suggested $303,000 bonuses—a nod to White’s historic $300,000 bonuses at UFC 300 back in April.
But White’s generosity had its limits.
“Not $303,000, but two bonuses,” White said with a laugh.
On the main card alone, ten fighters have combined for 11 Fight of the Night bonuses. Ortega leads with five for his UFC career.
Every fighter on the main card has earned at least one performance bonus—except Michael Page. He only has one UFC bout after spending most of his career in Bellator.
With an extra Fight of the Night bonus up for grabs, both main card and preliminary fighters have something big to earn come Saturday night.
